Cherry Velarde - Director, Hill & Knowlton Hong Kong
 Cherry Velarde is a Director at Hill & Knowlton Hong Kong and leads the Technology Practice, which works with local and global companies in the e-commerce, consumer, telecom and enterprise sectors.
Cherry brings a unique perspective to communications having worked as a former journalist and industry analyst before specializing in public relations for the last 12 years. She has worked in Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing and brings strong regional and China market experience.
Her expertise includes strategy development, media relations, analyst relations, corporate and marketing communications, events and creative writing. She also has a track record in growing the business and managing local and regional teams.
Before joining Hill & Knowlton in 2007, Cherry worked at major global and local PR firms including Ketchum, Edelman, Upstream and EBA. Earlier, she was Gartner's lead analyst in Asia Pacific in charge of PC market research. She was also an IT and business reporter and has worked with news agencies such as Reuters and Dow Jones.
